1. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Protégé will support day-to-day departmental operations, technical tasks, documentation, and coordination activities. This role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to engineering, operational, contractual, and administrative functions within the organization. The Protégé will work closely with department teams to assist in ongoing projects, data management, reporting, and compliance.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1. General Responsibilities (Applicable to All Departments)
Assist in preparing, organising and maintaining documents, reports, and departmental records.
Support daily administrative tasks such as filing, scheduling, data entry, and correspondence.
Assist in coordinating internal meetings, site visits, and communication between departments.
Perform basic research, data compilation, and preparation of presentation materials.
Ensure all work complies with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Participate in departmental activities, training sessions, and development programmes.
2.2. Project Department (Engineering)
Assist project engineers in planning, monitoring, and controlling project activities.
Support preparation of project schedules, progress reports, and technical documentation.
Help track project milestones, deliverables, and work progress at site (when required).
Assist in coordinating with contractors and vendors.
Participate in site inspections, taking notes, photo documentation, and updating reports.
2.3. Technical Department (Engineering Support)
Support technical evaluations, drawings review, and engineering calculations (if applicable).
Assist in preparing technical proposals, specifications, and method statements.
Perform data collection, testing support, and technical analysis under supervision.
Maintain technical document registers and ensure proper version control.
Assist in troubleshooting operational or design issues alongside technical teams.
2.4. Operation Department (Civil/Mechanical Engineering & Operations Management)
Assist in monitoring daily operations, maintenance activities, and operational performance.
Support preparation of operation logs, inspection reports, and equipment tracking.
Participate in site observations, asset checks, and basic compliance documentation.
Help coordinate manpower scheduling, site arrangements, and workflow planning.
Assist in tracking KPIs, operational issues, and improvement initiatives.
2.5. Contract Department (Tender, Claims & Commercial Support)
Assist in preparing tender documents, compiling submissions, and formatting proposals.
Support quantity take-off, document comparisons, and basic cost analysis (under guidance).
Help in collecting data for client claims, variation orders, and progress claims.
Maintain tender/contract document registers and ensure confidentiality.
Assist in liaising with internal teams for tender clarifications and documentation completeness.
2.6. Administrative Support (Across All Departments)
Assist in office administrative functions such as inventory updates, printing, scanning, and filing.
Support staff attendance tracking and basic HR documentation (if assigned).
Assist in preparing letters, memos, meeting minutes, and follow-up actions.
Help coordinate logistics for meetings, training, and travel arrangements.
Perform general office support tasks to ensure smooth departmental operations.
2.7. Information Technology (IT), (IT Departments)
2.7.1 Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network systems.
2.7.2 Support IT team in monitoring system performance and performing routine maintenance tasks.
2.7.3 Document issues, solutions, and processes to maintain accurate IT records.
2.7.4 Help manage IT inventory, including laptops, accessories, and software licenses.
3. PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE (PROTÉGÉ REQUIREMENT)
This role aims to develop young graduates in workplace readiness, technical exposure, communication skills, and professional capabilities in alignment with the PROTÉGÉ programme guidelines.

Degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or related fields will be an added advantage depending on department placement.
4.5. Skills & Competencies
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic knowledge of engineering concepts (for engineering-related placements).
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Detail-oriented with good organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willing to learn and adapt to various departmental tasks.
