We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Protégé Account to join our finance team. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about accounting and eager to develop professional expertise through hands-on training and mentorship. The Accountant Protégé will assist in daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives while learning directly from experienced finance professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Financial Record Maintenance

  • Accurately record daily financial transactions in the accounting system in compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain organized and complete documentation of invoices, receipts, and vouchers to support audit and reporting requirements.

2) Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process supplier invoices and customer billings promptly to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Assist in monthly reconciliation of vendor and customer statements, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

3) Banking & Reconciliation

  • Perform regular bank and cash reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Monitor, track, and report cash balances to support effective cash flow management.

4) Month-End & Year-End Closing

  • Prepare basic journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with closing procedures.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and schedules for month-end and year-end closing activities.

5) Teamwork & Professional Development

  • Collaborate closely with senior accountants and finance team members to support daily accounting operations.
  • Actively participate in continuous learning and professional development through mentorship and on-the-job training.

Requirements

Education:

● Bachelor's Degree (or final year student) in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Technical Skills:

● Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP / IFRS).

● Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., MYOUB).

● Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Soft Skills:

● High attention to detail and accuracy.

● Strong organizational and time management abilities.

● Good communication and interpersonal skills.

● Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.

● Integrity and commitment to confidentiality.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Contract length: 8 months

Pay: Up to RM2,000.00 per month
