Job Description

  • Analyze demand forecasts and production schedules to determine material requirements. Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent both shortages and excess stock.
  • Place purchase request for raw materials and indirect materials. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure shipment arrive on time with requested quantity.
  • Work closely with other departments like NPI, procurement, production, logistics, and warehouse teams to align on material availability with production needs.
  • Monitor and analyze material usage rates and develop accurate material plans based on data. Use tools like Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Communicate with customers for any material enquiry.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues related to material supply and delivery to ensure smooth operations.

Job Qualifications

  • Educational Background: A degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is often required.
  • Professional experience in inventory management or a similar role is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in material planning software and tools, such as SAP, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed for coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis and inventory management software is essential.
  • The ability to analyze data, interpret technical drawings and solve complex problems is crucial.
