Co-founded by two senior ex-Grab leaders, SeedFlex is a Credit-Tech Platform within the FinTech industry. Small and Medium-sized businesses (SMEs) are the backbone of any economy. While there has been massive growth in SMEs becoming digital in terms of generating business and accepting digital payments, there exists a massive gap between conducting business and having access to Credit based on the online flows. At SeedFlex, we are building a credit tech solution that enables real-time "pre-qualified" credit access to these merchants with the "best in industry" borrower experience and pricing terms.

Roles & Responsibilities

Data Science at drives the analysis and insights that shape our financial solutions, particularly in identifying Credit Risk and Fraud. Our team is composed of analytical thinkers and problem-solvers who transform raw data into actionable insights, enabling SeedFlex's (SF) CreditTech Platform to make informed decisions. We collaborate closely with various departments to ensure data accuracy and integrity, acting as a crucial bridge within the organization.

Get to know the Role:

Data Scientists at SF work with cutting-edge Credit and Fraud Data in Southeast Asia. Our environment is challenging, fast-paced, and constantly evolving, providing ample opportunities for growth and learning. You will be involved in SF's Data Ecosystem, including reporting & analytics, developing machine learning models, and various other data services that are integral parts of SF's overall technical stack.

The day-to-day activities:

  • Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights and identify trends related to financial products and customer behavior.
  • Develop and implement machine learning models to assess risk, predict sales, and optimize financial solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Create data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Conduct statistical analysis to support decision-making and strategy development.
  • Implement data pipelines and workflows to ensure efficient data processing and analysis.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and financial technology.

Requirements

The must-haves:

  • A degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in data science or a related role.
  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Proficiency in data analyst libraries (eg: pandas, numpy)
  • Strong knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with database systems and SQL.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, xgboost).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the financial services industry or related field.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., pytorch, tensorflow).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
