Job Summary

A Google Cloud Platform GKE Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and managing Kubernetes clusters on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). This role ensures containerized workloads run securely, efficiently, and reliably in a cloud-native environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, configure and maintain GKE clusters for production and development environments
  • Implement autoscaling, node pools and workload optimization
  • Use Terraform or similar IaC tools for provisioning and managing GCP resources
  • Automate cluster lifecycle tasks (upgrades, patching)
  • Apply RBAC, IAM policies and network security best practices
  • Implement workload identity and secure service-to service communication
  • Configure logging and monitoring using Cloud Operation Suite
  • Setup alerts and dashboards for cluster health and performance
  • Integrate GKE with pipelines (Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
  • Manage container registries and image security scanning
  • Diagnose cluster issues, networking problems and workload failures
  • Optimize resource utilization and cost efficiency

Job Requirements:

  • 6 months (starting from Jan 2026), Option to renew another 6 months
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes concepts (Pods, Deployments, Services, Ingress).
  • Hands-on experience with GKE and Google Cloud services (VPC, IAM, Cloud Storage).
  • Proficiency in Terraform, Helm, and scripting (Python, Bash)
  • 24 years in cloud engineering or DevOps roles.
  • Prior experience with container orchestration and microservices architecture
  • Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect.
  • CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in agile, collaborative environments.
