What you'll do:

As a Senior Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Engineer based in Kuala Lumpur, you will take ownership of end-to-end AI/ML solution delivery-from initial design through training, validation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with innovation partners to define use case logic grounded in real-world operational needs across banking domains. You will optimise model architectures for both performance and interpretability while ensuring all modelling activities comply with stringent data governance policies. By supporting post-MVP rollout processes-including version control, retraining pipelines, and feedback loops-you will help maintain high standards of accuracy and scalability. Your ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams such as Group Information Technology, Risk & Compliance, Business Units, system vendors, fintech partners, and academic institutions will be key to delivering impactful solutions that meet evolving business requirements.

• Build and train machine learning models using enterprise-grade platforms tailored to complex business challenges.
• Apply supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning techniques based on specific use cases and available data sets.
• Optimise model architecture for performance, interpretability, and readiness for deployment in production environments.
• Work closely with innovation partners to translate operational needs into actionable AI use cases that deliver measurable business value.
• Define clear model objectives, input/output structures, and success metrics aligned with digital transformation goals.
• Conduct rigorous testing to assess model accuracy, precision, recall, and other relevant performance metrics for each project.
• Perform stress testing and scalability assessments to ensure models are robust enough for production-level data volumes.
• Document validation results thoroughly and iterate on models based on feedback from stakeholders and fellow engineers.
• Monitor post-deployment model performance and implement feedback loops for continuous improvement and learning.
• Collaborate with DevOps and data teams to maintain seamless integration of AI/ML solutions into existing production environments.

• Demonstrated experience building machine learning models using enterprise-grade platforms such as TensorFlow or PyTorch within large organisations.
• Proficiency in applying supervised learning (classification/regression), unsupervised learning (clustering/dimensionality reduction), and reinforcement learning techniques based on business needs.
• Strong understanding of optimising model architecture for performance metrics including accuracy, interpretability, scalability, and deployment readiness.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with innovation partners to translate complex business challenges into practical AI use cases.
• Experience defining clear objectives for models along with input/output structures that align with organisational digital transformation goals.
• Track record of conducting thorough testing-accuracy assessment, precision/recall analysis-and performing stress tests for scalability under production conditions.
• Excellent documentation skills for validation results coupled with an iterative approach based on stakeholder feedback.
• Familiarity with post-deployment monitoring practices including feedback loop implementation for continuous learning.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML solutions into production environments in partnership with DevOps or data engineering teams.
• Comprehensive knowledge of data governance standards including privacy controls, lineage tracking, auditability requirements, and secure infrastructure frameworks.
