Senior Test Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Test Engineer to support design verification, validation, and production testing of DC, RF, Match, and Plasma Power Systems used in semiconductor and industrial plasma applications. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in high-end RF, Power, or Embedded computing manufacturing environments, along with strong Python and SQL skills for test automation and data analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. 1Develop, execute, and maintain test plans and procedures for DC and RF power supplies, matching networks, and plasma power components.
2. Set up and operate test benches using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, and RF loads.
3. Perform functional, performance, environmental, and burn-in tests on new and existing products.
4. Troubleshoot test failures and work with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to identify root causes.
5. Support design verification (DVT) and product qualification activities.
6. Develop automated test scripts from scratch using LabVIEW, Python, or equivalent.
7. Ensure all testing adheres to relevant industry and safety standards.
8. Document test results, generate reports, and contribute to engineering change requests (ECRs).
9. Collaborate cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and field service teams.
10. Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
11. Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the production processes and components, business and other technology including materials.
12. Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat.
• Works in a fast-paced engineering/manufacturing lab environment.
• Also works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax machine, etc.).
• Works under limited supervision.
• Overtime may be necessary in times of increased demand.
• Travel to international locations may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Solid understanding of RF theory, impedance matching, and plasma physics principles.
• Hands-on experience with test and measurement equipment (e.g., VNA, DSO, RF signal generators).
• Proficiency in test automation and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with safety standards related to high voltage and RF systems.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

• Min 7 years test engineering experience in a high-end electronic manufacturer.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in high-end RF, Power, or Embedded computing manufacturing.
• Experience in test engineering, preferably with DC, RF, Match and Plasma power systems domain.
• Experience in semiconductor equipment or plasma processing industries.
• Knowledge of regulatory testing (e.g., EMI/EMC, CE, UL).
• Experience with statistical analysis and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Familiarity with PLM systems and ERP tools.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's/ Master/ PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience and/or education.
