What will you do?

As a Building Controls Design Engineer at Aurecon, you will be instrumental in designing and integrating smart building systems that enhance performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, mission-critical projects and contribute to Aurecon's vision of engineering a better future.

• Designing and developing control system schematics, architecture, and specifications for building automation systems (BAS), including HVAC, lighting, and energy management systems.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure control systems align with overall building design and client requirements.
• Supporting commissioning activities by developing test scripts, witnessing functional performance tests, and verifying system integration.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contributing to knowledge sharing across the team.
• Staying up to date with emerging technologies, standards, and best practices in building automation and smart infrastructure.

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will also need the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8–10 years of experience in building controls design, ideally within data centers, commercial buildings, or other mission-critical environments.
• Strong understanding of control system protocols, automation platforms, and integration strategies.
• Proficiency in design tools and software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and control system programming environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.
• A commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability in engineering design.
• Good to have: Experience in Building Management System (BMS) design, including system architecture, device selection, and integration with HVAC and electrical systems.
