About the role

T Y Lin International Sdn Bhd, a leading global C&S consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Executive/Senior Building or Rail/Infrastructure Design Engineer to join our team in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This full-time position is crucial in delivering complex structural engineering projects for our diverse client base.

What you'll be doing

  1. Conducting structural analysis and design for a variety of building, rail and infrastructure projects
  2. Preparing detailed structural drawings, specifications and design calculations
  3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including project managers and site personnel, to ensure seamless project delivery
  4. To attend project/site meetings, design review meeting and meetings with relevant authorities.
  5. To conduct site inspections.
  6. Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
  7. Identifying and implementing innovative design solutions to optimize costs and construction efficiency
  8. Ensuring compliance with company ISO requirements, relevant building codes, regulations and safety standards
  9. Carry out the role as reviewer for project documentation for conformity and quality assurance.
  10. Contributing to the development of in-house design tools and best practices

What we're looking for

  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field.
  2. Must be registered with Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM).
  3. 8+ years of experience in structural design will be required for Senior position.
  4. Candidates with at least 2 years of relevant working experience in building or rail design work will be prioritized.
  5. Experience with infrastructure design work is required for Rail Design Engineer position.
  6. Fresh graduates with strong fundamental in design knowledge will be considered for junior positions.
  7. Proficient in structural analysis and design software.
  8. Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
  9. Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with diverse stakeholders
  10. Familiarity with local building codes and regulations (e.g. MS EN, BS, etc.)
  11. For Malaysian only.
