Regional Product Manager – Transformer Product

Role Overview:
This role leads the regional expansion and product leadership for the transformer business across Southeast Asia. The focus is on building market-relevant product strategies, enabling go-to-market execution, and supporting sales enablement and customer success across key markets including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The position is central to evolving the company's transformer business from passive participation to a proactive, project-driven and service-oriented presence in the region.
Location: Greater Kuala Lumpur (Fully On-site, 5 days in office)
Budget: MYR 15,000 monthly base
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and implement a product roadmap tailored to Southeast Asian market needs and aligned with the global portfolio
- Localize and adapt transformer product offerings developed by overseas OEM/ODM partners for compliance and relevance in regional markets
- Identify customer requirements, regulatory standards, and competitive benchmarks to guide product planning
Market Entry & Business Development
- Lead phased rollout of transformer business, starting with Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand
- Oversee technical qualification, certification, and approval processes in each country
- Drive business development efforts including technical showcases, demo installations, and market education
Sales Enablement & Partner Support
- Provide technical support, tools, and training for country sales teams and channel partners
- Create and manage solution collateral including datasheets, catalogs, selection tools, and use cases
- Support strategic deals, EPC/OEM bids, and key account engagement across industrial and infrastructure segments
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as interface between regional operations and global R&D/product teams to ensure alignment and customization
- Collaborate with marketing and communications on launch campaigns and product branding
- Coordinate with service teams to develop warranty, service lifecycle, and after-sales support models
Performance Management & Reporting
- Define and monitor KPIs including regional sales targets, margin goals, product qualifications, and project outcomes
- Deliver periodic business reviews and market insights to regional and global stakeholders
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related disciplines
- 5+ years
of experience in
transformer or power equipment
roles (product management, engineering, or technical sales) - Familiarity with
IEC/ANSI standards

regional utility specs
, and certification pathways in Southeast Asia - Proven experience in
cross-border product rollouts
and
collaboration with manufacturing/ODM partners - Strong domain understanding of
transformer applications across utilities, EPC, OEM, and industrial segments - Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills (English fluency required; Mandarin a plus)
- Willingness to travel across the region as needed
Nice-to-have:
- Direct experience launching or managing transformer products across multiple Southeast Asian markets
- Knowledge of key players such as EPCs, utilities, energy consultants, and certifying bodies in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand
- Hands-on technical capability paired with commercial and market-driven thinking
- Strategic mindset with operational discipline in fast-evolving environments
