Job Summary

The Network Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network systems and related hardware. This role ensures smooth and secure network operations, supports system upgrades, and assists end-users with connectivity issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless network systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and performance issues.
  • Perform routine network maintenance and updates on routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor network performance and identify potential bottlenecks or security risks.
  • Support the setup and configuration of servers, network printers, and IP phones.
  • Document network configurations, changes, and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement network solutions and system upgrades.
  • Ensure network security and compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Provide technical support to users for network-related issues.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Network Technician or in a similar IT support role.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, and VPN.
  • Familiar with network devices such as Cisco, Mikrotik, or Ubiquiti routers/switches.
  • Basic understanding of network security tools (firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection).
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Added Advantage

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent.
  • Experience in network cabling and hardware installation.
  • Familiarity with VoIP systems or CCTV networking setup.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2, RM3,000.00 per month
