Kitchen Crew (Cooking) – Requirements

1. Experience & Culinary Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a café or restaurant kitchen environment.
  • Competent in preparing a wide range of dishes, especially pasta, brunch items, and side dishes.
  • Strong ability to follow recipes accurately, maintain portion control, and ensure consistency.
  • Quick learner who can adapt to new menus, ingredients, and cooking methods.
  • Proficient in basic knife skills and knowledgeable in the safe handling of common kitchen equipment and tools.

2. Work Attitude & Team Collaboration

  • Punctual, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains a positive, respectful, and professional attitude toward colleagues and management.
  • Able to perform effectively under pressure and stay calm during peak service hours.
  • Dedicated to upholding high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and teamwork at all times.

3. Communication & Language Skills

  • Able to understand and follow basic instructions in Malay and/or English.
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting kitchen order tickets, prep sheets, and recipe instructions.

4. Hygiene & Certifications

  • Holds a valid Food Handling Certificate.
  • Typhoid vaccination is an added advantage.
  • Practices excellent personal hygiene and maintains a clean, organized workstation consistently.

5. Physical Requirements

  • Able to stand for long periods and maintain energy throughout extended shifts.
  • Physically fit to handle moderate kitchen tasks, including lifting, bending, and repetitive preparation work.

6. Schedule & Availability

  • Willing to work split shifts or long hours (typically 11:30 AM – 11:30 PM with a 2-hour break).
  • Must be available to work on weekends and public holidays; one day off per week provided.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1, RM2,000.00 per month
