Key Responsibilities
  • Develop & Maintain Pipelines: Build batch and streaming pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Composer, Dataform, and Cloud Functions.
  • Model & Optimize Data: Design and tune BigQuery data models for analytics, BI, and ML workloads.
  • Integrate Data: Transform and connect data from APIs, databases, and event streams.
  • Ensure Reliability: Monitor and troubleshoot pipelines for high performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Governance & Quality: Apply validation, quality checks, and security best practices.
  • Collaborate: Partner with analysts and BI teams (e.g., Tableau, MicroStrategy) to enable self-service analytics.
  • Support Legacy Systems: Occasionally handle Oracle or MicroStrategy data extraction for modernization.

Requirements
  • Must have min 5 years in data engineering or ETL/ELT development.
  • Technical Skills:

    - Strong SQL and Python for data transformation.

    - Hands-on with GCP stack (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Composer, Dataform).

    - Familiar with Airflow/Composer and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Data Modeling: Solid understanding of relational, dimensional, and modern modeling concepts.
  • Cloud Knowledge: Exposure to Azure Data Stack (Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks) is a plus.
