THE OPPORTUNITY
The Senior Sales Manager is charged with managing, prospecting and securing sponsorship and exhibition sales for events across the Asia Pacific markets. This manager is a strategic and consultative sales and business development professional who partners with clients to deeply understand their marketing goals and craft tailored solutions that deliver measurable impact. With a talent for translating complex programmes into clear, actionable plans, they ensure flawless execution, accurate billing, and insightful reporting that proves value. Beyond client success, this manager inspires and empowers a team of 2–3 sales professionals - cultivating a collaborative and high-performance culture where people thrive and results speak for themselves.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE IN THIS ROLE
- Sales Leadership & Performance - Develop and implement team sales strategies to achieve or surpass sales and revenue goals
- Team Management & Development – Lead, coach and mentor the sales team to ensure high performance and professional growth to include hiring, onboarding, training, team meetings and performance reviews
- Stakeholder Collaboration, Execution & Fulfillment - Collaborate with external partners, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams - including Event/Project Managers, Event Operations, and Marketing - to align sales strategies with event objectives, ensure timely contract finalisation, manage payment collection, and deliver on client commitments
- Business Development & Account Management – Maintain long-term client relationships with key accounts, while developing new business accounts, revenue streams as well as international and vertical market
- Executive & Management Support – Provide strategic and operational support to SPE Asia Pacific leadership, serving as a key representative of the APAC Sales Region in internal meetings and cross-functional initiatives. Contribute meaningful insights and guidance to ensure regional priorities are reflected in global strategies and collaborative projects
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with 8–10 years of international or regional experience in sponsorship, exhibition or event sales, including at least 3 years in team leadership and staff management
- Proven experience in managing multiple sales projects with strong planning and organisational skills
- Capable of independently and collaboratively overseeing a diverse portfolio while effectively engaging with colleagues, senior leadership, and key external stakeholders such as exhibitors, sponsors and advertisers
- Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines, solve practical challenges, and navigate complex situations with limited precedent or standardisation
- Strong command of verbal and written business English is essential; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, or other regional languages is an advantage
- Must be able to present information confidently, clearly, and concisely in both individual and group settings to clients, prospects, members, exhibitors, sponsors, and SPE colleagues internationally
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and adept at using various systems and software
- Skilled in managing CRM/sales applications and other tools relevant to sales and administration
- Willing and able to travel internationally (approx. 30%) for business
PACKAGE AND BENEFITS
Competitive Compensation Package –
On Target Earnings (OTE) = base salary + uncapped sales commissions based on meeting target revenue
