Project Engineer, Precast

About the role

We're hiring a Project Engineer, Precast, to drive right-first-time production at our J‑Star precast yard in Senai. You'll work closely with our partners, Resident Engineer (RE), designers, and site engineering teams to align daily/weekly casting targets with QA/QC requirements, ensuring all elements are produced strictly to approved drawings, project specifications, and ITPs. What you'll do

• Plan and deliver casting cycles: Build daily/weekly precast schedules with Yard/Production teams; track outputs, takt/cycle times and recovery plans.
• Protect quality at source: Enforce compliance with IFC/shop drawings, embedment/lifting/bracing details, and dimensional tolerances; drive NCR/CAR closure.
• Coordinate technical resolution: Raise/close RFIs and TQs with RE/designers for discrepancies; maintain redlines and as‑builts.
• Assure temporary works & lifting: Verify approved designs for handling, storage and rigging; support safe lifting plans and audits.
• Integrate logistics to site needs: Liaise with site installation for sequence, storage, and dispatch to meet OTIF delivery.
• Report and improve: Issue concise weekly reports on output, yield/scrap, rework and trends; champion continuous improvement and lessons learned.
• Lead safety by example: Conduct risk assessments and toolbox briefings for high‑risk yard activities (cranes, forklifts, formwork, rebar yards).

About you

• Degree in Civil/Structural (or Mechanical) Engineering; professional/chartered status is advantageous.
• 3–6 years in precast/DfMA or heavy yard production with strong QA/QC exposure.
• Proficient in interpreting shop drawings/BBS, cast‑in items, and tolerance management; working knowledge of concrete technology, curing and release.
• Familiar with temporary works and lifting/rigging fundamentals; able to collaborate with RE/designers and production teams.
• Strong planner and communicator; comfortable with a yard‑based schedule aligned to production demands.
