About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Safety and Health Officer (SHO) or Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Officer to support the delivery of a large-scale data centre construction project in Kuala Lumpur. This is a site-based role, working closely with the project team, contractors, and consultants to ensure the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental compliance are maintained throughout construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain site Safety, Health and Environmental management systems in accordance with Malaysian legislation and project requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with approved Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), permits, and safety plans.
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety inductions, and safety briefings.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards, and implement corrective actions.
  • Liaise with authorities, consultants, and stakeholders on safety-related matters.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, reporting, and compliance documentation.

About You

  • Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH Malaysia, or equivalent recognised HSE qualification.
  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a construction site safety role, ideally on large or complex projects.
  • Experience on data centre, industrial, infrastructure, or high-value commercial projects will be highly regarded.
  • Strong working knowledge of Malaysian occupational safety, health, and environmental legislation.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence safe behaviours across a multi-contractor environment.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced construction setting.
