SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE
Onitsuka Tiger embarked on a new chapter on 1 October 2018, operating quasi-independently within the same legal framework as ASICS Corporation. This strategic shift was in response to the unique operational needs of the Onitsuka Tiger brand. Our goal is to elevate Onitsuka Tiger to the pinnacle of premium lifestyle brands on a global scale. As we strengthen our organizational structure to support our growth in Southeast Asia, we are in search of a dedicated Assistant Logistics Manager to actively engage in and support our business development initiatives.
The Assistant Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing all logistics operations within the Malaysia market, ensuring alignment with business needs and operational efficiency. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders – including the Onitsuka Tiger Malaysia retail and commercial teams, as well as external partners such as the Onitsuka Tiger SEA Merchandising and Logistics team, the local ASICS logistics team, and 3PL providers. Key responsibilities include managing inbound and outbound logistics, trade and delivery control, warehouse coordination, monitoring and ensuring 3PL performance and ensuring compliance with local regulations. The incumbent will play a critical role in minimizing sales opportunity loss and supporting the seamless flow of goods, while maintaining consistency with regional logistics standards and strategies.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Regional Logistics Support
- Collaborate with the regional logistics team to manage freight shipments, ensuring compliance with company policies and local customs regulations.
- Verify shipping and customs documentation to support smooth import and export processes.
- Oversee successful import & export customs clearance and maintain accurate internal records.
2. Local 3PL Management
- Manage local third-party logistics (3PL) partners, covering both operational and commercial aspects.
- Ensure smooth and timely inbound and outbound logistics operations across retail, e-commerce, and wholesale channels.
- Drive operational excellence and monitor performance to ensure service levels and KPIs are consistently met.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient coordination and execution of logistics activities.
Logistics Systems Management
Manage and support logistics-related system processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and data integrity.
5 . Shipment Planning
- Plan and prioritize shipments for special items, such as collaboration pieces, to ensure timely delivery and launch.
6. Process & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics function.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, or supply chain management.
- Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, customs processes, and ASEAN FT COOs.
- Familiarity with Malaysian import/export procedures, documentation, and local trade regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; ERP system experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with strong command of written and spoken English.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to solve problems independently.
- Positive, proactive, and collaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
- Experience in the retail industry, especially fashion (apparel/footwear) or cosmetics, is an advantage.
