We are looking for a Graphic Designer with a passion for pets to join our fast-growing team

The ideal candidate is an independent player who is able to craft human-centric digital experiences.

We're looking for a designer who
gets it
— someone who understands that less is more, who can think strategically about social media, and who can create custom illustrations that bring brands to life.
We are not looking for designers who produce designs off Canva.

All candidates will start off with a paid work trial. During this period, it will be a 2-way assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Social Media Design:
    Create scroll-stopping Instagram posts, stories, and organic content for US pet brands
  • Brand Strategy:
    Interpret brand guidelines and create cohesive visual identities (not just execute templates)
  • Custom Illustration:
    Design mascots, characters, and illustrations that match existing brand styles
  • Client Collaboration:
    Work directly with brands to understand their vision and execute it beautifully
  • Trend Awareness:
    Stay on top of social media trends and adapt designs to what's actually working

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

  • Clean, minimal design aesthetic
    — Think Native Pet, Maev, Summer Fridays (NOT busy, cluttered, overly-designed content)
  • Custom illustration skills
    — Can create mascots, characters, and branded illustrations from scratch
  • Strategic thinking
    — Understands social media beyond "pretty pictures"
  • Brand matching ability
    — Can interpret and match existing brand styles without being given all the files
  • Independent problem-solving
    — Doesn't just copy-paste references; interprets and adapts
  • Portfolio that proves it
    — Show us minimal, clean work (not generic or overly decorated)

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with pet brands or wellness brands
  • Understanding of US market aesthetics vs. other markets
  • Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, and organic social trends
  • Experience with red packet/festive design (CNY, holidays, etc.)

Technical Skillset

  • Figma
  • Adobe / Illustrator
  • Video Editing

This role is 100% remote, but this might change in the future.
