Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

1. Risk Assessment on Credit Proposals

  • Conduct independent credit risk assessments for new and existing banking, insurance, and treasury proposals, including annual reviews, watchlist reviews, and restructuring/rescheduling proposals.
  • Oversee the credit rating process using the Bank's internal credit rating tools (CRMS) for prospective obligors, including project owners and sovereign entities.

2. Due Diligence on External Parties

  • Perform independent due diligence and reviews on external or related parties involved in transactions with the Bank's customers, as requested by the Credit Administration Department (CAD) or Banking Division.
  • Ensure due diligence processes comply with the Bank's internal guidelines and policies, particularly in relation to Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) requirements.

3. Risk Assessment on Operational Risk and Credit Variations

  • Review and assess operational or credit variation requests submitted by the Banking Division or CAD to ensure compliance with the latest Bank Approving Authorities and Limits.
  • Identify and highlight potential material credit risks arising from proposed variations.

4. Review of Significant Increase in Credit Risk (SICR)

  • Conduct independent reviews of SICR (Watchlist and Impairment) submissions for all financing accounts.
  • Collaborate with the Banking Division to verify account status and provide recommendations based on portfolio risk evaluation.

5. Periodic Monitoring of Risk Ratings

  • Undertake periodic reviews of financing account risk ratings as required by management or external auditors.
  • Coordinate with the Banking Division to ensure timely re-rating of accounts to reflect the Bank's current exposure and Expected Credit Loss (ECL) position accurately.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or CFA (or equivalent).

Experience

  • 4 to 8 years of relevant working experience, preferably within the financial or banking industry.
  • Prior experience in credit assessment or risk management will be an added advantage.
