Your new company

You will be joining one of the leading global technology powerhouses specialising in ICT and smart devices. The Company has presence across the SEA region and operates across 170 countries. They are currently looking for a Data Protection and Cybersecurity Compliance specialist to join their office in Kuala Lumpur.

Your new role

  • You will develop and implement privacy and cybersecurity policies, strategies, standards, and specifications for APAC and support local representative offices in adapting and optimising these frameworks to meet national requirements.
  • You will monitor and analyse the latest legal and regulatory trends across the region.
  • You will develop regional incident response planning for privacy and cybersecurity, including developing response plans, organising simulation drills, and building capabilities.
  • You will conduct risk assessments and manage the governance across Asia Pacific countries to assess compliance, identify gaps, and drive corrective and improvement actions.
  • You will be the SME in legislative feedback and regulatory communications on privacy and cybersecurity.
  • You will lead professional teams on key projects and collaborate with local offices to implement external engagement strategies.
  • You will design and deliver training programs to enhance the competency of privacy and cybersecurity personnel across the APAC region.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum of 8 years in a Cybersecurity and Data Privacy/ Data Protection role
  • Proven experience in an IT GRC and/or cybersecurity privacy related role
  • Proficient in cybersecurity standards and frameworks (i.e. ISO27K1, NIST Framework etc.)
  • Obtained a professional certificate such as CISSP, CIPM, CIPP, CISM or etc.
  • Has good interpersonal and collaboration skills
