Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Junior Virtualization Data Protection Engineer to join our IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional with hands-on VMware experience or Veeam Backup & Replication to grow their skills in virtualization and IT infrastructure. You will support the management and maintenance of our VMware environment under the guidance of senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of VMware vSphere environments.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot virtual machines, ESXi hosts, and vCenter Server.
  • Support backup, recovery, and patching of virtual infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure system performance and reliability.
  • Document processes and maintain accurate system records.

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and management of Veeam Backup & Replication environments.
  • Perform and monitor backup, restore, and replication tasks for virtual and physical systems.
  • Troubleshoot basic issues related to Veeam backups and infrastructure.
  • Support disaster recovery testing and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure data availability and system reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records of backup schedules and processes.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, or vCenter (internships or projects count).
  • Basic understanding of virtualization concepts and IT infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with Windows/Linux server administration is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Certifications like VMware Certified Associate (VCA) or VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA) are a bonus but not mandatory.
