About us

Founded in 2022, Onnu is a pyrolysis technology provider, committed to scaling biomass pyrolysis and biochar to deliver profitable carbon removal and green energy globally. We develop and engineer affordable, versatile and high-capacity pyrolysis machines across Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia. Additionally, we trade EBC certified biochar and renewable commodities via our business arms, Onnu Biochar and Onnu Bioflow.

About the role

Onnu are developing a number of projects where they we require a CAD Technician to complete site layouts including positioning of key equipment (walking floor trailers, top loaders, dryers, bunkers, pyrolysers) and then design the connections between the key equipment including augers and conveyors and sometimes new buildings for the sites to house the equipment. You will have full control over all designs and need to take ownership of them to ensure the best solution is identified and designed from first concepts all the way through to final AFC designs.

Day-to-day activities will include:

  • Providing strong 3D modelling support to the engineering team and identifying 

    innovative solutions.

  • Creation of 3D models and Information Modelling from 2D sketches or 

    client/supplier drawings.

The ideal candidate :

  • Proven experience in mechanical equipment, CAD modelling and the production of fabrication drawings.

  • Previous experience in designing biomass material handling equipment (augers, conveyors, dryers, hoppers etc.) desirable but not essential

  • Proficient in the use of CAD software (AutoCAD preferably).

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks will be an added advantage

  • Ability to create drawings for all Mechanical and Piping requirements including some Electrical and Instrumentation, such as;

  • Manufacturing drawings

  • Assembly Drawings

  • Containment Drawings

  • Piping Isometrics

  • P&IDs

  • Single Line diagrams

  • Block Cable Diagrams

  • Layout Drawings

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.

  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently and within a team.
