Overview

  • The candidate will oversee all legal and secretarial matters of the Group pertaining to the organisation's business strategy and operations. This includes safeguarding the organisation's interest, provide legal leadership and maintaining a robust legal framework.
  • Draft, analyse and negotiate contracts, agreements, and all other types of legal documents.
  • Participate in meetings, discussions and negotiations on legal matters and business dealings including due diligence, corporate restructuring, joint ventures and financing.
  • Liaise with external solicitors on all legal matters involving the organisation.
  • Provide advisory on a broad range of legal topics and managing queries from various internal stakeholders, ensuring that the company's interests are protected from a legal standpoint.
  • Identify, evaluate and resolve legal issues in contracts, litigation, and other commercial matters.
  • Review and establish sound legal guidelines, policies and processes in line with business direction.
  • Keep abreast on all laws and regulatory developments relevant to the organisation, and provide timely advice on any impending impact.
  • Act as the custodian of all legal documents and contracts; the reference point for all contractual obligations of the organisation.
  • Liaise with external company secretary for statutory records and compliance matters of the group,
  • Work with external company secretary for drafting/vetting resolutions, compilation, and circulation of board of directors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law.
  • Minimum 10 years' of working experience in legal practice or in-house counsel.
  • Experience in relevant legal areas such as corporate, commercial, litigation and conveyancing.
