1. Job Purpose

To operate the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and ensure accurate dimensional inspection of parts according to engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. CMM Operation & Measurement

  • Operate CMM machines to perform dimensional inspections.
  • Run inspection programs based on product drawings, GD&T, and customer requirements.
  • Measure first article, in-process, and final products.
  • Verify accuracy of critical dimensions and tolerances.

B. Programming & Setup (optional based on skill level)

  • Create or edit basic CMM programs using relevant software (PC-DMIS, CALYPSO, MCOSMOS, etc.).- preferred
  • Set up fixtures, probes, and tools before inspection.

C. Reporting & Documentation

  • Record measurement results and prepare inspection reports.
  • Maintain measurement data in system (Excel, QMS, ERP).
  • Report any non-conformance immediately to QA Engineer/Production.

D. Calibration & Machine Care

  • Ensure CMM machine is calibrated and maintained in good working condition.
  • Perform routine checks and maintain a clean, temperature-controlled environment.

E. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure inspections comply with ISO 9001 / customer-specific standards.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Follow company safety, 5S, and quality procedures.

3. RequirementsEducation

  • SPM / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, QA, or related field.

Experience

  • 1–3 years working experience as CMM Operator or Quality Inspector.
  • Fresh graduates with basic measurement knowledge may be considered.

Technical Skills

  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of GD&T.
  • Experience with CMM machines and manual measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauge).
  • Able to use CMM software

Soft Skills

  • Attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.

4. Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing environment (precision machining / plastics / metal fabrication).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2, RM2,500.00 per month
