Trading & Settlements Analyst

As an AU Trading & Settlements Analyst, you'll play a key role in managing settlement processes to ensure that orders and stock transfer requests placed on the FNZ WRAP Trading Platform are accurately sent to market and settled on time. This position sits within FNZ's Investment Operations division, supporting Australian FNZ Wrap clients and covering a diverse range of products including equities, fixed income, managed funds, term deposits, and FX across both Australian and international markets.

In this role, you'll manage a range of key settlement activities, including administering managed fund buy and sell orders via the FNZ Trading Platform (WRAP), confirming instructions to brokers and sub-custodians for all equity and fixed interest trades to ensure timely settlement, and processing cash transfer requests for buy trades in coordination with the cash team

This is a settlement-focused role, requiring a strong understanding of operational processes and, ideally, experience within settlements operations across products such as equities, managed funds, bonds, or term deposits.

The Responsibilities Will Include

• Administer managed fund buy and sell orders via the FNZ Trading Platform (WRAP).
• Confirm instructions to brokers and sub-custodians for all equity and fixed interest trades, ensuring timely settlement on assigned dates.
• Process cash transfer requests for buy trades in coordination with the cash team.
• Submit orders to fund managers or issuers via email or fax at designated times, ensuring accuracy.
• Collate trade confirmations from fund managers/issuers received by post, fax, or email.
• Accurately claim cash from FNZ's bank statements into control accounts and reconcile/maintain these accounts.
• Complete orders accurately within WRAP once confirmations are received from external parties (fund managers, brokers, banks).
• Follow up on payments and statements from fund managers and issuers.
• Peer review team members' work to maintain quality and accuracy.
• Raise potential risk issues to the Team Manager for timely resolution.
• Maintain strong relationships with operational teams at fund managers/issuers to ensure timely execution of orders.
• Collaborate with FNZ management and team members to enhance processes for efficiency and control, including updating team procedures.
• Review breach and KPI reports, take ownership of exceptions, and provide feedback or resolution to the Team Manager.

What are we ideally looking for in a successful candidate:

• Previous experience in investment operations or familiarity with financial markets and wealth management products (preferred but not essential).
• Strong initiative and ability to work independently in a client-focused, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Proficient computer skills, including intermediate to advanced Excel capability.
• Ability to take ownership, work under pressure, and contribute to a high-performing team
