Job Purpose
:

  • To provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Group's finance and accounting functions, ensuring robust financial governance, accurate statutory and management reporting, effective risk management, and continuous process improvement.
  • The role partners closely with senior management, regulators, and external stakeholders to support strategic initiatives such as group consolidation, corporate exercises, and capital market compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead overall corporate reporting function, including financial reporting, consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, and preparation of annual report.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, Bursa Malaysia, and Securities Commission requirements, as well as internal controls.
  • Drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and financial reporting quality.
  • Provide financial insights to senior management and stakeholders to support strategic decisions.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners, including auditors, regulators, and advisors.
  • Support corporate exercises such as M&A, IPO preparation, fundraising, and due diligence.

Expectations
:

  • Degree in Accounting or any professional or finance equivalent, such as ICAEW/ACCA/CPA/MIA/CIMA.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant working experience is required. A candidate with early career experience in a Big 4 accounting firm, followed by a transition into corporate reporting within a listed company, would be preferable.
  • Demonstrate strong technical expertise in financial reporting, consolidation, and compliance.
  • Exhibit strategic thinking, business acumen, and the ability to provide actionable insights to management and the Board.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented, strategic mindset to address challenges and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Highly organized with strong presentation and writing skills to effectively communicate complex information.
  • Maintain high levels of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all business dealings.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and collaborative partner to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Adapt to fast-changing business needs and regulatory landscapes, demonstrating resilience and resourcefulness.
