Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Terengganu, Malaysia. The Training Instructor will be responsible for conducting safety and health training sessions, preparing training materials, and evaluating participant performance. They will also provide support and guidance to learners, ensure the effectiveness of the training programs, and comply with safety standards and regulations. Additionally, the role involves engaging with clients to understand their needs and maintaining high levels of professionalism. We are looking for a
highly motivated and competent Instructor
to deliver high-quality safety, survival, and emergency response training programs. The ideal candidate will have solid industry experience, strong instructional skills, and a deep understanding of training standards such as OPITO and other industry guidelines.

Key Responsibilities – Training Instructor

1.   Course Delivery

• Conduct training sessions for assigned courses in accordance with approved lesson plans and competency requirements.

• Deliver engaging, accurate, and practical instruction to ensure effective learning outcomes.

2.   Course Preparation

• Develop, update, and maintain lesson plans, training materials, equipment, and training aids.

Ensure training venues, classrooms, and equipment are prepared, safe, and suitable before each session.

3.   Compliance & Safety

•
Adhere to all relevant legislative and company safety procedures during training activities.

•
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all participants follow safety protocols.

4.   Participant Assessment

•
Evaluate participant performance through practical assessments, written tests, and health checks.

•
Provide constructive feedback and document assessment results accurately.

5.   Training Material Management

•
Monitor the condition and status of training materials and update as needed.

•
Ensure all course content remains relevant and in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

6.   Reporting & Documentation

•
Complete course documentation including attendance, assessments, and course close-out reports.

•
Assist in maintaining accurate records for audit and quality assurance purposes.

7.   Customer Service & Feedback Handling

•
Address and resolve participant feedback, complaints, or comments professionally and promptly.

•
Ensure high standards of customer experience throughout the training.

8.   Team Collaboration

•
Work closely with fellow instructors, coordinators, and admin staff to support smooth training operations.

•
Supervise support staff during training and ensure roles are performed effectively.

9.   Continuous Improvement

•
Participate in internal training, development programs, and audits.

•
Contribute ideas for improving training content, delivery methods, and operational efficiency.

10.    Professional Conduct

• Maintain a professional appearance and behavior at all times.
• Represent the company positively to participants, visitors, and clients.

11.    
Integrated Management System (IMS)

• Support the implementation and continual improvement of the IMS to achieve intended outcomes.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education / Certification:

• Professional certification or Diploma/Degree in a relevant discipline.

Training Capability (Required):

• Basic Fire Fighting
• Basic Fire Teamwork & Fire Leaders
• Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), Gas Fire Fighting
• Helicopter Fire Fighting
• Vessel Entry & Rescue
• Casualty Handling & First Aid
• Offshore/Onshore Safety Induction
• Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET)
• Lifeboat Coxswain & Fast Rescue Craft
• Emergency First Aid

Additional Competency (Advantageous):

• Major Emergency Management
• Competence Assessments
• Offshore/Onshore Safety Audits
• General Safety Courses (e.g., AGT, H₂S, WAH, Scaffolding, Rigging)

Experience:

• Min 3 years in fire-fighting operations , sea survival training, and other safety training
• Preferably 5 years in a training environment or oil & gas industry.
• Familiarity with OPITO standards, audits, and training documentation.
• Experience in maintaining fire equipment and breathing apparatus is an added advantage.

Skills & Attributes:

• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English (spoken & written); other languages are a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work with multicultural participants and maintain training quality.
• Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and meticulous preparation in course delivery.
• Physically fit with a clean bill of health.
