Our client "Lowell M&E Sdn Bhd" is seeking a Quantity Surveyor (M&E) to join their team

Join our client's dynamic team in Ara Damansara, Selangor, and play a crucial role in managing Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects from start to finish. This position offers competitive compensation and the opportunity to work on diverse projects, honing your skills in cost estimation, procurement, and contract management.

What you'll be doing?
  • Pre and post-contract activities: Handle all aspects of M&E projects, including tendering, cost estimation, procurement, progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts.
  • Budget management: Prepare and monitor project budgets, cash flow, and cost reports to ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
  • Tender review: Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope of work and contractual requirements.
  • Cost control: Manage and verify costs from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors, processing their claims and invoices efficiently.
  • Client communication: Prepare and submit progress claims, certifications, and invoices to clients in a timely manner.
  • Variation order management: Ensure all variation orders are properly documented and submitted for approval.
  • Supplier relations: Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and quality services.
  • Documentation: Maintain and monitor contractual records and documentation to safeguard the company's interests.
  • Team collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site teams, consultants, and clients to support smooth project delivery.
Who are they looking for?
  • Educational background: Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or equivalent field.
  • Experience: Ideally 2-3 years of working experience as a QS, preferably in M&E works. Candidates with no prior experience are welcomed to apply.
  • Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of tendering, contract administration, and cost control in M&E projects.
  • Essential skills: Good analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities to tackle project challenges effectively.
  • Software proficiency: Competent in MS Office (Excel, Word); familiarity with QS/contract management software is a plus.
  • Personal qualities: Independent, detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Language skills: Proficient in English to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
