Job Description:

  • Prepare design and specifications for project proposal and tendering stage

  • Prepare estimate budget costing and cost benefit analysis for projects

  • Conduct site visit to estates & Mill to advise on the related technical issues highlighted by the operation team (Building, infrastructure, facilities, Mechanical & Electrical and services).

  • Advice on design, method of statement and estimated cost for new buildings, repairs, upgrading or replacement works.

  • Coordinate, manage, plan and monitor project implementation (construction phase) and execution from conceptualization to commissioning stage.

  • Supervise to ensure quality works and meet specifications by doing the regular site inspection and monitoring

  • Monitor and manage all the safety, health and environmental compliances

  • Monitor, checking for all the ILO compliances especially for contractor's workers documentation and others.

  • Able to identify and make sure all the specification and contract requirements are fulfilled by the vendors.

  • To control and minimize the variation order (additional cost) during implementation progress

  • To prepare and manage all progress payment certificates, approval papers (pre & post construction), approval EOT, CPC, CMGD and RFDC certificates and all the correspondence with contractor, estate & Mill and local authority.

  • Communicate and liaise with local authorities, consultants and other departments in SD Guthrie.

  • To conduct and lead progress/site meeting, site inspection for quality control with contractors and clients.

Job Requirements

  • Candidate must possess Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering discipline (Preferred in Civil).

  • 2 years of relevant experience in an Engineering Department.

  • Good knowledge in project management.

  • Good understanding of engineering design principles, with basic knowledge of the construction industry — particularly in compliance with local authority requirements such as the Minimum Housing Standards Act (Act 446) and the Uniform Building By-Laws (UBBL).

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent administrative and coordination abilities.

  • Experience in site monitoring and reporting is an added advantage.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project and basic proficiency in AutoCAD will be an added advantage.
