Grant Thornton Johor is embarking on an exciting digital transformation journey to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation into both our client service delivery and internal operations. We are establishing a dedicated team to drive these initiatives and are seeking highly motivated professionals with a background in audit or taxation who are passionate about innovation and technology.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of a pioneering team that bridges accounting expertise with emerging AI and automation solutions. The role offers structured training in AI tools, workflow automation, and data analytics — empowering you to become a future leader in technology-driven accounting transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or participate in AI and automation transformation projects for both internal operations and client-facing engagements.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities within audit, tax, and advisory workflows.

  • Implement cloud accounting systems (e.g., Xero, Bukku) or ERP systems aligned with business strategy and IRBM e-invoicing requirements.

  • Design, test, and implement AI-driven and automated solutions (e.g. using tools such as Power Automate, UiPath, ChatGPT and n8n workflows, or other emerging platforms).

  • Collaborate closely with audit, tax, and IT teams to deploy and monitor automated processes.

  • Document transformation outcomes and assist in staff training to ensure successful adoption.

  • Stay abreast of new technologies, and continuously evaluate their potential application in professional services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related fields.

  • 1–5 years of experience in accounting, audit or taxation or working experience in a professional services environment.

  • Strong interest in technology, automation, and AI application in accounting.

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and process improvement skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Prior experience with scripting, data analytics, or automation tools (e.g. PowerAutomate, Excel VBA, Python, UiPath, ChatGPT prompt engineering, or n8n) will be an advantage — but not mandatory.
