Moulding Technician

The scope of work

Responsible to mould management, mould processing, and injection moulding operations, including the assembly, maintenance, and adjustment of moulds, ensuring product quality, troubleshooting issues, managing inventory, and collaborating with the team to enhance process efficiency and safety.

Job Responsibilities

1. Assemble and adjust moulds to meet design requirements, ensuring proper functioning and alignment.

2. Disassemble moulds for cleaning, repair, and routine preventive maintenance (PM), ensuring all documentation (e-checklist) is completed.

3. Prepare moulds according to production schedules and specifications, ensuring timely mould changes.

4. Inspect finished mould parts for accurate measurements, defects, and flaws. Perform machining processes to ensure precise cutting and high-quality production.

5. Set up and operate injection Moulding machines, ensuring molds are properly installed and optimized for production. Troubleshoot and resolve injection Moulding issues (e.g., cycle times, material flow, temperatures) to ensure product quality.

6. Maintain accurate inventory records in the MES system and track spare parts and consumables usage for moulding process.

7. Assist engineers in equipment installation, system qualifications, troubleshooting, and improving overall equipment efficiency (OEE).

8. Monitor the injection Moulding process to ensure product consistency and quality. Adjust machine settings, cycle times, and material flows as necessary to improve yield and reduce defects.

9. Work as part of a team to maximize tool availability, process yield, and overall efficiency.

10. Ensure compliance with 5S, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and safety & health protocols.

11. Perform other related tasks as assigned by the immediate superior.

Qualifications

• Education level: Diploma in Engineering or others related field. Preferably Mechanical or Polymer field candidates.
• Year(s) of Experience: Prefer candidates with Minimum 1 year of working experience in related field. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

• Capability:

• Strong in analytical, problem solving and good communication skills.

• Ability to learn fast and to be able to work within a team.
• Ability to maintain clear, accurate records and follow checklists for routine tasks.

• Skill(s):

• Understanding of basic mould assembly and dismantling concepts, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.

• Skilled in operating injection moulding machines, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing the process for quality production.
• Familiarity with CNC Lathe machines for precision machining of mould parts.
• Experience using measuring tools (e.g., callipers, micrometres) to ensure accuracy in mould parts and final product.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation, reporting, and inventory tracking.
• Ability to identify issues in the moulding and machining process and apply corrective actions.
• Language: English & Bahasa are must, Japanese and others will be an added advantage.
