About the role

As a Purchasing Specialist at IHASTEK (MALAYSIA) SDN BHD, you will be responsible for procuring materials, goods and services to support the company's manufacturing and logistics operations. This full-time position is based in Johor Bahru, Johor, and will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective supply of resources to the business.

What you'll be doing

  1. Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to obtain the best pricing, delivery terms and quality of materials (such as air purifiers, humidifiers and water purifiers)
  2. Collaborate with the marketing and R&D departments to participate in the research of new products and new materials, analyze material quotations, and conduct preliminary supplier selection;
  3. Work with the marketing and business departments to promote the analysis and implementation of cost reduction plans for related product categories;
  4. Monitor market trends, gather and organize relevant industry information, and provide data support for procurement strategies;
  5. Take the lead in auditing and onboarding new suppliers;
  6. Ensuring compliance with the company's procurement policies and procedures;
  7. Undertake any other duties or special assignment as delegated by the management from time to time.

What we're looking for

  1. Relevant degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Business or a related field
  2. Minimum 3 years' experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in the manufacturing or logistics industry
  3. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills to achieve the best commercial outcomes
  4. Proficient in data analysis to identify purchasing trends and optimization opportunities
  5. Familiar with processing techniques and cost structures of at least two categories (such as injection molding, metal parts, motors, filters, electronics, or other structural components);
  6. Enthusiastic team player with a focus on continuous improvement
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin
