Process Engineer/ NPI Planner

PROCESS ENGINEER:

First Article Process and Development:

 Assist in designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.

 Support in conducting process simulations and analyzing data to identify areas for improvement.

Project Management:

 Aid in planning, executing, and managing engineering projects from FA concept to completion.

 Help develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans.

 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.

 Monitor project progress and assist in adjusting plans as necessary to achieve project objectives

Continuous Improvement:

 Support the identification and implementation of process improvement initiatives using Lean or other methodologies.

 Participate in root cause analysis to develop corrective actions for process-related issues.

 Assist in tracking and reporting on key performance indicators to measure process effectiveness (MES)

Technical Support and Training:

 Provide technical support and guidance to production teams and other departments

 Assist in developing and delivering training programs on process optimization and best practices.

 Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Documentation and Reporting:

 Help maintain accurate and detailed process documentation, including Process Management Plan, Process Traveler, Tooling List, and Work Instructions.

 Assist in preparing and presenting timeline reports, project updates, and performance metrics to management and customers.

NPI PLANNER:

  1. NPI Planning and Scheduling

    • Develop and maintain detailed project timelines for all NPI activities.

    • Coordinate schedules between engineering, production, quality, and procurement teams.

    • Track progress of design, programming, tooling, and validation stages.

  2. Engineering Coordination

    • Plan engineering task sequences based on drawing release, BOM readiness, and fixture/tool requirements.

    • Follow up on external processes such as coating, treatment, or special process readiness.

  3. Documentation and Control

    • Maintain engineering TSH Portal master list of NPI parts and status.

    • Ensure proper control and versioning of documents (drawings, setup sheets, inspection plans, FAl reports).

    • Support ECN (Engineering Change Notice) and revision tracking related to NPI.

  4. Cross-Functional Communication

    • Act as a communication bridge between engineering, production, quality, and supply chain during NPI stages.

    • Facilitate review meetings, highlight bottlenecks, and propose recovery actions.

  5. Performance and Risk Monitoring

    • Track key project milestones and identify schedule risks.

    • Provide weekly progress reports and highlight resource or technical constraints.

    • Support continuous improvement by documenting lessons learned from each NPI cycle.
