ESD Engineer

The ESD Engineer / Assistant Engineer is responsible for ensuring full compliance with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) control standards within production areas. This role supports daily operations by performing inspections, providing training, troubleshooting ESD equipment, and driving continuous improvement to meet both internal and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

ESD Verification & Line Setup

  • Conduct ESD verification during new line setup, line transfer, and line buy-off activities to ensure readiness and compliance.

Scheduled ESD Inspections

  • Perform weekly and monthly ESD inspections in accordance with established procedures, customer specifications, and industry standards.

Reporting & CAPA Management

  • Publish inspection reports promptly and initiate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for any detected non-conformance.

Training & Competency Development

  • Deliver ESD training to newly onboarded employees as part of induction.
  • Train and guide ESD Inspectors to ensure consistent awareness and competency.

Equipment Maintenance Support

  • Work closely with internal teams and suppliers to troubleshoot, repair, and verify ESD-related equipment in the event of malfunction or breakdown.

Audit Participation

  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, evidence, and clarification related to ESD control processes.

Documentation & Procedure Updates

  • Review and update ESD procedures, SOPs, and checklists in line with the latest requirements and best practices.

Quality Meeting Involvement

  • Participate in weekly Quality meetings to report ESD performance, issues, and improvement actions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive improvement initiatives to strengthen ESD controls, reduce non-conformities, and enhance overall process robustness.

Requirements :

  • Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge of ESD standards (ANSI/ESD S20.20 or equivalent) is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to conduct training.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply (for Assistant Engineer).
