Technical Writer

Office Location – Plaza Mont Kiara

We are looking for a technically-minded person to join our fast-moving startup as a Technical Writer / Community Manager.

Squirro has developed an AI Insights Engine platform and related applications, such as Enterprise Search or Generative AI solutions. To take the engagement with our implementation partners to the next level, we want to hire a dedicated person to keep the documentation for these solutions up to date. In this role you will engage very closely with most of the functions, especially Product Management, Engineering, Delivery and Training and Education at the company to understand the documentation gaps and update the documentation correspondingly.

You must be a self-motivated and fast learner, with an aptitude to pick up new technical topics quickly. In many cases you will be the first one to use new functionality in earnest, to be able to develop the right course and documentation content for it. With the developed knowledge in the product, you will also be expected to engage with the partner community by answering questions on the forums - or identify internally who would be well placed to answer a given question.

You will be given a lot of freedom on how to structure and expose the documentation and the community content.

The preferred location for the position is in Kuala Lumpur.

Responsibilities

• Keeping the public-facing technical Squirro product documentation up to date, including updating of the release notes.
• Proactively identify required changes and improvements in the documentation.
• Closely collaborate with our Head of Training and Education to develop training material and assess certification submissions for the Squirro Academy.
• Work with our Engineering and Delivery teams to develop understanding for documentation writing and notify them of relevant questions in the community.
• Monitor the community forums and ensure questions are picked up and answered. Actively participate in building out the community.
• First-level support for technical partner questions.

Qualifications

• English language writing at native level (C2).
• Programming experience in Python and/or JavaScript.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to various audience levels.

Preferred experiences

• Experience with current best documentation practices.
• 1+ years in a client-facing role that involves being a point-of-contact for technical and non-technical users.
• Experience with Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning.
• Worked with unstructured data on a previous project or role.
