Qualification:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent)

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in plant maintenance, operations or engineering

Skills & Competencies:

·       Strong knowledge of plant utilities, mechanical / electrical systems and instrumentation

·       Good analytical and troubleshooting skills

·       Strong planning, coordination and communication skills

·       Positive working attitude with initiative and sense of ownership

·       Able to work independently with minimal supervision and show strong teamwork

·       Proactive in identifying problems and proposing solutions

·       Committed to continuous learning, safety and improvement

Preferred:

·       Experience in boiler operation, steam system and utilities management

·       Possession of a valid Steam Engineer Certificate (Grade 1 or 2 or equivalent)

·       Experience in effluent treatment, water treatment, or process plant operations

·       Familiar with OSHA and DOE environmental regulations

·       Knowledge of energy efficiency management, heat recovery and boiler maintenance best practices

·       Possession of AESP, AGT, or ETP competent person will be and added advantageKey responsibilities:

Plant Operation & Maintenance

·       Oversee daily operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems.

·       Ensure all equipment (e.g pumps, blowers, motors, valve, control panels) runs reliably and efficiently

·       Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime

·       Plan and coordinate plant shutdowns and repairs with minimal impact on operations

·       Maintain inventory space parts and critical equipment

Engineering & Technical Support

·       Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical solutions for plant issues

·       Support commissioning, calibration, testing of new or modified system

·       Analyse performance data to improve system reliability and efficiency

·       Collaborate with vendors, consultants and internal teams for technical problem-solving

Project Management

·       Plan, budget, and execute plant improvement or upgrade projects

·       Prepare technical specifications, drawings and cost estimates

·       Monitor project progress to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and budget targets

Safety, Health Environment & Compliance

·       Ensure all engineering activities comply with safety, health and environmental standards

·       Implement and monitor risk assessments, permit work to work and LOTO procedures

·       Support audits, inspections and regulatory compliance (DOE, DOSH, ISO etc)

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

·       Lead initiatives to improve energy efficiency, water use, and waste management

·       Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for failures and implement corrective actions

·       Identify improvement opportunities and propose cost-effective engineering solutions

Documentation & Reporting

·       Maintain accurate maintenance, calibration and performance records

·       Prepare technical reports, daily logs, and KPI tracking

·       Ensure proper documentation of drawings, manuals and certifications

People Management & Teamwork

·       Supervise and guide technicians, operators and contractors

·       Provide on the job training and technical coaching

·       Foster a positive, safety- oriented, and proactive work culture

Budget & Cost Control

·       Prepare and manage maintenance and project budgets

·       Control cost through effective planning, sourcing and vendor management
