JOB PURPOSE

To provide advisory, contractual drafting and legal related services to MMC Corporation Berhad ("Company") and its related corporations (collectively "Group") in connection with their business operations, to ensure that the Group's interests are protected at all times.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for provision of legal services in connection with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, privatisations, land matters, projects, contracts, tenders and bids, businesses and operations of the Group and to provide legal advice through all phases of transactions including due diligence, structuring, contract drafting and review, negotiation and closing of transactions to ensure the Group's interest are protected and to ensure timely completion of all transactions.
  • Work closely with immediate superior to liaise with commercial teams to assimilate regulatory and commercial goals, identify potential legal issues and develop legal strategies to capitalize on business opportunities.
  • Identify and report any aspects of contracts, actions or decisions that may give rise to potential legal risks to the Group and advise on the possible legal mitigation plans and appropriate course of action to be taken by the Group after discussing with immediate superior and/or the Head, Group Legal Department (as the case may be).
  • Assist in the preparation of legal templates and checklist for contracts/legal documents and policies relating to inter-alia mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, privatisations, land matters and projects.
  • Assist in the knowledge sharing sessions to be conducted by immediate superior to foster working relationships with legal personnel of the Group and to impart legal knowledge and skills to the legal personnel of the Group (i.e assistant manager, senior executive and executive).
  • First tier guidance /supervision of the Executives of the Group Legal Department.
  • Direct liaison with internal stakeholders on various issues and build credible and effective relationships with fellow legal personnel within the Group. From time to time, liaising and negotiating with external advisors/consultants and counter parties.
  • Maintain an updated and working register of the Group's corporate, project and conveyancing matters to effectively co-ordinate the completion of the relevant transactions.
  • From time to time, vet the Company/Group's policies to facilitate the Company/Group's goals and business objectives.
  • Analyse laws, regulations and legal developments.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education / Professional Qualification

· Bachelor in Legal Studies (Hons) / Master in Public Administration

· Minimum ten (10) years of post-qualifying experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to RM13,000.00 per month
