Job Summary:The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring cleanliness, order, and guest comfort in all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The role includes staff supervision, inventory control, and quality inspections, while maintaining service standards in line with hotel brand expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Housekeeping Operations:

  • Supervise daily housekeeping activities, including room cleaning, public areas, and turndown service.
  • Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure adherence to cleanliness and service standards.
  • Coordinate with the Front Office regarding room status, VIP arrivals, and guest requests.
  • Assist in planning and executing special cleaning projects and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure proper usage and care of housekeeping equipment and cleaning supplies.

Team Leadership & Training:

  • Schedule, assign, and supervise room attendants, housemen, and public area staff.
  • Train team members on hotel standards, cleaning procedures, and guest service.
  • Monitor staff performance, provide coaching, and support professional development.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork and service excellence.

Guest Experience & Service Excellence:

  • Respond to guest requests and complaints regarding housekeeping services in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Support VIP and special guest requirements, ensuring personalized service.
  • Maintain strong presence in guest areas to enhance visibility and guest engagement.

Administration & Reporting:

  • Assist the Executive Housekeeper with departmental budgeting and cost control.
  • Monitor and maintain housekeeping inventory (linen, guest supplies, cleaning products).
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Prepare daily reports on room status, inspections, and staff productivity.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree in Hospitality or Housekeeping Management (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of housekeeping experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and housekeeping equipment.
  • Proficiency in hotel PMS systems (e.g., Opera) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle pressure and resolve guest or staff conflicts effectively.

Working Conditions:

  • Requires flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods; frequent bending and lifting.
  • Exposure to cleaning products and laundry equipment.
  • Professional grooming and polished appearance required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM6, RM8,000.00 per month
