  • The nurse must be able to assess, treat, and manage various types of wounds, including diabetic, pressure, and post-surgical ulcers.
  • Perform wound dressings and other clinical procedures.
  • Provide patient education on wound care.
  • Assist with minor surgical procedures, such as an incision and drainage (I&D).
  • Manage clinic inventory, including wound care supplies.
  • Provide basic nursing care.
  • Handle patient registration and inquiries.

Qualification:

  • Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board: Ensure the candidate has a current and valid Annual Practice Certificate (APC).
  • Wound care training: Look for candidates with additional training or certifications in wound care management, which may include a Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma in Wound Care.
  • Clinical experience: Experienced candidates will have a stronger understanding of complex wound assessment, treatment planning, and management for various wound types (e.g., diabetic foot, pressure ulcers).
  • Relevant skills: The nurse should be proficient in specialized tasks such as wound dressing, infection control, debridement, and patient education.
