Main responsibilities:

Assists the Head of the Design Management & Technical Department in overall design management and technical matters for the approved NRW projects, from the design stage to the tender stage.

Tasks:

1. Lead Design Coordinators for NRW projects across all states.
2. Ensure that Monthly Progress Reports are completed within the stipulated timeline.
3. Provide and update information for reporting purposes, including presentation slides, audits, and other related documentation, within the stipulated timeline.
4. Be involved in assessing NRW reduction achievements.
5. Prepare Variation Order (VO) papers for consultancy services and other reports as per the stipulated timeline.
6. Coordinate overall design management and technical matters for projects from the design stage to the tender stage.
7. Coordinate with lead engineers to ensure that consultants' design works meet the required standards and regulatory requirements, and are delivered within the approved schedule and budget.
8. Coordinate with lead engineers in reviewing all technical documents submitted by consultants, including technical reports, specifications, design drawings, tender documents, and other project-related materials from the design stage to the tender stage.
9. Review and prepare Terms of Reference (TOR) for the appointment of engineering consultants, if required.
10. Coordinate and provide input to other departments, divisions, and companies on matters related to design management and technical aspects, as required.
11. Review and recommend consultants' claims for projects.
12. Ensure that all projects are completed in accordance with the approved Master Implementation Program (MIP) for consultancy up to the tender stage.
13. Monitor and report project status, including physical progress, project cash flow, claims/payments, land acquisition, and authorities' approvals for projects from the design stage to the tender stage.
14. Coordinate the arrangement of Client Consultant Coordination Meetings (CCCM) and other related meetings for projects from the design stage to the tender stage.
15. Liaise with the Water Operator on matters related to projects from the design stage to the tender stage.
16. Coordinate the preparation of reports and documentation as required for projects under the design stage up to the tender stage.
17. Review the performance assessments for consultants from the design stage to the tender stage as prepared by the Design Coordinators.
18. Perform other related tasks as instructed from time to time by Management and/or the immediate superior.

Requirements:

• Recognized Degree in Engineering (Civil / Electrical / Mechanical / Chemical / Construction Management) or its equivalent;
• At least 12 years' experience in waterworks or similar nature.
• Experience in coordination of project;
• Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint;
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia is required;
• Excellent report writing, presentation and public speaking skills are essential;
• The candidate should possess good leadership attributes and be energetic;
• Being self-motivated, analytical, resourceful and having strong integrity are important qualities; and
• A good working attitude and willingness to travel are expected.
