About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team at Compact Metal Industries Sdn. Bhd. in Sedenak, Johor. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability. This is a full-time position that offers excellent opportunities for career development and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, pricing, and tender submissions for projects such as curtain wall works.
  • Negotiate and prepare contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction process, ensuring work stays within budget.
  • Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and conduct cost-benefit analyses to identify potential savings.
  • Measure and re-measure quantities based on construction drawings for valuation and verification purposes.
  • Evaluate and certify subcontractor claims and progress payments in line with site progress and contract terms.
  • Assist in procurement, including obtaining quotations, performing cost comparisons, and preparing contract documentation.
  • Prepare and analyze progress and financial reports to track project performance against timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all project financial matters.

What we're looking for

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools, such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of construction regulations, codes, and industry best practices
  • Fluent in Mandrin, English, Bahasa Melayu
