This is a senior-level role within a critical engineering services division, dedicated to supporting a data centre client.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead mechanical design for building projects with key Data Centre design competencies
  • Manage and co-ordinate projects deliveries via review and approve drawings, calculations & technical reports in accordance with quality procedures
  • Manage a team of engineers ensuring quality deliverables and conducting training and performance reviews
  • Contribute to business development opportunities where possible, assist in proposal preparation and tender submissions
  • Professional endorsement of drawings for submission to local authorities /authorities under jurisdiction
  • Implement QA/QC processes for mechanical engineering works

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's /Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognised institution
  • Be a Chartered mechanical Engineer/ Professional engineers with Practicing Certificate (PEPC) issued by Board of Engineers, Malaysia
  • Possess extensive experience of working within a consulting environment
  • Have experience of major and complex Data Centre projects with Uptime Institute Tier Certification for Design Documentation (TCDD) & Constructed Facility (TCCD)
  • Have a sound understanding of project management, risk assessment process and other international standards
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in M&E consulting firm, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role (e.g., Principal Engineer, Team Lead, or HOD).
  • Strong design background in HVAC, fire protection, cold water & sanitary plumbing, and mechanical systems design for buildings.
  • Experience in local Malaysian projects, familiarity with local authority submissions.
  • Proven track record in managing teams, project delivery, and client/ stakeholder coordination.
  • Competency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP (BIM) and CFD simulation software are pluses.
  • Knowledge of MS Project/ Primavera project scheduling.
