We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Assistant Manager, Account reporting to the Manager, this full-time and permanent position is based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Finance Operation and its' growth.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end accounting function for assigned trust accounts, ensuring all financial activities comply with trust agreements, regulatory guidelines, and applicable accounting standards.
- Collect, analyse, and interpret accounting data to ensure accurate book-keeping, proper classification of transactions, and integrity of financial records.
- Prepare the full set of accounts and unaudited financial statements for trust accounts within established timelines, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to reporting requirements.
- Lead and manage a small team of accountants, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high-quality work output and professional growth.
- Review and approve submissions and reports prepared by team members, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal controls, trust mandates, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor accounting processes and financial schedules to identify discrepancies, resolve issues promptly, and maintain strong internal controls.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, service providers, and trustees, to facilitate smooth reporting cycles and ensure timely resolution of queries.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team, enhancing workflow efficiency, documentation quality, and operational effectiveness.
- Handle ad-hoc duties and special assignments related to trust accounting, reporting, and process improvement as required.
Key Requirements
- 4-5 years experience in accounting role with people management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or any relevant professional certificate such as ACCA/CIMA/MIA/MICPA
- Good communication skills and able to read, write and speak in English.
- Detail oriented with good time management skills.
