JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • The incumbent reports to the Executive/Supervisor in carrying out maintenance, repair, and upgrading works of electrical equipment, wiring, and switching of Low Voltage (L.V) main switchboards and standby generators, within the scope of competency of an A4 Electrical Chargeman, in accordance with the Electricity Supply Act and the Electricity Regulations 1990 (Act 447). The incumbent also reports to the Executive/Supervisor in handling tasks involving all low voltage (L.V) and high voltage (H.T) electrical systems.
  • Work may be carried out inside or outside the building and involves wiring works including single-phase and three-phase wiring, in compliance with regulations approved by TNB, IEEE, and the Energy Commission.
  • Prepare schedules and conduct inspection audits of electrical supply systems, standby generators, air-conditioning units, and building fire prevention systems as part of preventive maintenance activities.
  • Assist in supervising renovation projects and installation of office equipment/furniture, and support maintenance, repair, and upgrading of all types of building installations (internal/external) related to civil, infrastructure, and mechanical works.
  • Manage service applications and complaints received through the service request system and coordinate appropriate actions as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, acts, and OSHE requirements.
  • Comply with procedures and work instructions as outlined in SOPs and WIs in line with MS ISO 9001 standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6–10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Possess an A4 Electrical Chargeman Certificate recognized by the Energy Commission and experience in electrical system and equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Polytechnic Certificate with 3 years of relevant work experience; or
  • Minimum SPM with 9 years of relevant work experience; or
  • Minimum STPM with 3 years of relevant work experience; or
  • SKM (Level III) with 5 years of relevant work experience; or
  • Minimum PMR with SKM (Level II) and 10 years of relevant work experience; or
  • Minimum PMR with SKM (Level I) and 12 years of relevant work experience.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess a positive attitude and good conduct.

  • Ability to interpret and manipulate information/data.
  • Knowledge in overall building maintenance (air-conditioning, fire prevention, civil works, and plumbing).
  • Familiarity with legislation such as FMA 1967, OSHA 1994, Electricity Supply Act 1990, etc.
  • Ability to read schematic design drawings, electrical equipment diagrams, machinery, motors, control panels, and building wiring.
  • Knowledge in maintenance and repair of electrical supply systems, standby generators, air-conditioning units, and fire prevention systems.
  • Must possess safety equipment (PPE) and comply with all work criteria and procedures under OHSAS 18001, OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, Electricity Supply Act, IEEE, and Energy Commission (ST) during maintenance and repair works.
  • Able to work under uncomfortable outdoor conditions (e.g., hot weather) and hazardous environments (e.g., heights, flashovers, explosions, electric shock).
  • Supervise appointed contractors.
  • Willing to work outside of office hours.
  • Able to handle diverse customer/service requester needs.
  • Must comply with all statutory requirements.

Job Type: Full-time
