About the role

Tap Go Sdn Bhd, an exciting games development company based in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur, is seeking a talented and experienced Game Designer to join their dynamic team. As a full-time Game Designer, you will be responsible for crafting engaging gameplay experiences for their upcoming mobile game titles, with a particular focus on developing content for their Mandarin-speaking target audience.

What you'll be doing

  1. Conceptualise and design innovative gameplay mechanics and systems to deliver immersive and fun gaming experiences
  2. Collaborate closely with the art, programming, and product teams to ensure seamless integration of design elements
  3. Develop and refine game narratives, levels, challenges, and progression systems
  4. Conduct playtesting and user research to gather feedback and iterate on design decisions
  5. Document design specifications and maintain clear communication with the development team
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in game design

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 3 years of experience in game design, preferably in the mobile games industry
  2. 2.Experience in distributed system development.
  3. Experience in developing underlying game system modules using C/C++.
  4. Familiar with NoSQL databases such as Redis and MongoDB.
  5. Proficient in Python, capable of scripting and tool development using Python.
  6. Familiar with the Linux operating system.
  7. Experience in game server performance optimization.
  8. Responsibility

Develop and maintain the server architecture for Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOG) using Lua.

  1. Design and implement high-performance, scalable game server systems, including network communication, database interaction, and game logic.
  2. Use MySQL for data storage and management, and optimize database performance.
  3. Optimize server performance and resolve performance bottlenecks in high-concurrency scenarios.
  4. Write high-quality code and conduct unit testing and code reviews.
  5. Collaborate closely with planners, client developers, and other server developers to ensure the smooth implementation of game features.
  6. Research and apply new game development technologies and tools to enhance game quality and development efficiency.
