Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's/MBA is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in banking or financial services, with at least 5 years in a senior management or operational leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Malaysian banking regulations, compliance, operational risk management, and cybersecurity practices.
  • Strong track record in leading large teams, managing change, and implementing strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills based on operational data.
  • Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • High integrity, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CEO and Senior Management Team to define and implement the Bank's operational strategy and vision.
  • Lead and manage all day-to-day operational functions of the Bank including strategic management, branch operations, customer service, contact centers, transaction processing, credit operations, and more.
  • Develop, implement, and refine operational policies, procedures, and systems to ensure efficiency, compliance, security, and service excellence.
  • Drive operational excellence and process optimization initiatives to reduce costs, enhance turnaround times, and improve customer experience.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to execute the Bank's strategic roadmap through effective operational alignment.
  • Monitor operational performance using data-driven KPIs and analytics; identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Spearhead digital transformation efforts, automation, and technology adoption to future-proof banking operations.
  • Ensure business continuity, operational risk management, and disaster recovery plans are in place and regularly tested.
  • Manage operational budgets, human resources, and staff training for optimal team performance and organizational growth.
