Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced
Network and Firewall Engineer
to join our IT Infrastructure team. This role is critical for maintaining the high availability, performance, and security of our entire network across all locations. You will be the hands-on expert responsible for configuring, managing, and troubleshooting our core switching and firewall systems, ensuring compliance and robust security standards.

Key Responsibilities

Network & Infrastructure Management

  • Configure and maintain
    Dell and Huawei managed switches, including advanced features like
    VLANs, Trunking, Link Aggregation, QoS, and STP
    .
  • Manage and troubleshoot all routing protocols (
    BGP, OSPF
    ), static/dynamic routes, and our IP addressing schemes.
  • Monitor network performance, health, and availability using tools like PRTG or SolarWinds, performing periodic assessments and upgrades as needed.
  • Coordinate with ISPs and external vendors for WAN link management and issue resolution.
  • Participate in infrastructure design, capacity planning, and implementation of new network services.

Security & Firewall Administration

  • Administer and troubleshoot SonicWall and FortiGate firewalls
    from end-to-end, including:
  • Policy creation,
    NAT/PAT
    , and firmware upgrades.
  • Setup and maintenance of
    VPNs
    (IPSec/SSL).
  • Configuration of threat prevention features (Intrusion Prevention, Web/Application Control).
  • Plan and implement robust
    network segmentation
    and high-availability/failover mechanisms.
  • Conduct regular firewall and network audits to ensure strict compliance with internal and external security standards.
  • Provide
    Tier 2/3 support
    for complex, escalated network-related incidents.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of network layouts, configurations, and change logs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience and Education

  • Minimum of
    3–5 years
    of hands-on experience in a similar role managing enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Proven track record with
    Dell and Huawei switches
    and
    SonicWall/FortiGate
    configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Technical Expertise (Must-Have)

  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of
    Dell and Huawei Layer 2/3 switches
    .
  • Extensive experience with
    SonicWall and FortiGate
    firewall solutions (VPN, NAT, Web Filtering, Application Control).
  • Solid understanding of core networking protocols:
    TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, STP, BGP, OSPF
    .
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., PRTG, Wireshark, SolarWinds).

Preferred Certifications & Exposure (A Strong Plus)

  • Certifications:
    Fortinet NSE 4/5, SonicWall CSSA/CSSP, CCNA/CCNP, or Huawei HCIA/HCIP.
  • Experience in
    contact centre or high-availability
    environments.
  • Exposure to network automation tools or scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
  • Familiarity with
    ITIL
    service management processes.

    on-call
    for critical network support and incident response.
