About the role

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Inspector of Work to join our dynamic team at AZMAR ENGINEERS SDN. BHD. This is a critical role within our construction operations, responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and safety of our construction projects in Kuching, Sarawak. As an Inspector of Work, you will play a pivotal part in the successful delivery of our contract-based construction projects.

What you'll be doing

  1. Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites, materials, and workmanship to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards
  2. Monitor and document progress of construction activities, identifying any issues or deviations and recommending corrective actions
  3. Liaise with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to coordinate inspection schedules and address any concerns
  4. Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings and recommendations
  5. Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and processes
  6. Ensure strict adherence to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
  7. Provide guidance and support to construction teams to maintain high standards of workmanship

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience as an Inspector of Work or in a similar construction supervision role
  2. Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality control practices
  3. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and drawings
  4. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  6. Thorough understanding of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
  7. Proficient in using construction management software and technology
  8. A relevant diploma or degree in construction, engineering, or a related field
