We are seeking a results-driven
Asset Health Engineer
to lead asset health assessments, optimize maintenance strategies, and provide engineering input into data-driven reliability initiatives.

This role combines hands-on knowledge of industrial assets with structured reliability engineering practices. You will work closely with the maintenance, operations,
data science
, and
data engineering
teams to define, analyze, and improve asset performance using both field experience and data models. The goal is to establish a sustainable, predictive approach to asset health and failure prevention.

Key Responsibilities: -

Asset Health & Reliability Strategy

  • Define performance thresholds and health indicators for critical assets (rotating and static).
  • Evaluate maintenance history, sensor data, and inspection reports to assess asset condition.
  • Recommend improvements to asset design, maintenance practices, or operational parameters.

Reliability Engineering & Root Cause Analysis

  • Conduct RCA, FMEA, and support reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) initiatives.
  • Translate field observations into structured reliability actions and strategic recommendations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives targeting MTBF, MTTR, and equipment uptime.

Data Collaboration & Model Validation

  • Collaborate with data science teams to validate predictive models using engineering judgment.
  • Define relevant features and data requirements based on real-world failure modes and degradation patterns.
  • Work with data engineering to ensure asset structure, hierarchy, and health data are accurate and usable.

Maintenance Optimization

  • Review and refine preventive and condition-based maintenance plans based on asset behavior and field feedback.
  • Work with planners and supervisors to align work instructions with asset-specific needs.
  • Track performance impact of strategy changes over time.

Requirements: -

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering field.
  • 4–8 years of experience in asset reliability, condition monitoring, or industrial maintenance.
  • Deep understanding of failure mechanisms, degradation trends, and maintenance optimization techniques.
  • Hands-on experience using maintenance and reliability data from CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP PM).
  • Ability to interpret sensor or operational data (e.g., vibration, thermal, runtime hours) in context.
  • Excellent collaboration skills across engineering, operational, and data functions.

Preferred Certifications & Qualifications:-

  • Certification in Vibration Analysis
  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE)
    – ASQ or equivalent
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
    – SMRP
  • Trained in RCA, RCM, FMEA methodologies
  • Familiarity with ISO 55000 and asset lifecycle management
  • Experience working alongside data analysts, data scientists, or IT/OT integration teams
  • Prior work in pulp & paper, chemical, oil & gas, or similar process industries is a plus
