About the role

We are seeking an experienced and talented Public Relations and Communications Manager to join our dynamic team at City University Malaysia. This is a full-time role based in our Petaling Jaya, Selangor office. In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for driving our public relations and marketing communications strategy, with the aim of enhancing the University's brand and reputation.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and implement comprehensive public relations and communications campaigns to promote the University's achievements, programmes, and initiatives
  • Manage media relations, including building and maintaining strong relationships with key media outlets and journalists
  • Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other PR-related content
  • Coordinate and oversee the production of marketing materials, such as brochures, newsletters, and social media content
  • Provide strategic counsel and support to senior leadership on communication matters
  • Monitor and analyse media coverage, social media trends, and industry developments to identify opportunities and mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment across all marketing and communication channels

What we're looking for

  • At least 5 years of experience in a public relations or communications role, preferably within the education or higher education sector
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling and engaging content
  • Excellent media relations skills and experience in building and maintaining media contacts
  • Proficiency in social media management and digital marketing strategies
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful PR and communications campaigns
  • Keen eye for detail and the ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
